Ghana Lacrosse holds Cybersecurity training and Lacrosse Exhibition at Lincoln Community School in Accra

The leadership of Ghana Lacrosse Association (GLA), on Sunday, the 1st of December 2024 organized a Capability Development and Lacrosse Exhibition at Lincoln Community School in partnership with Youth Bridge Foundation.

The event was held to educate athletes, coaches and volunteers on the looming cybersecurity threats surrounding sports development. The lead facilitator, Mr. Solomon Dodoo Attoh, emphasized the need for participants to tackle cyber threats, master social media safety and understand the risks of data breaches in order to be better equipped to navigate the digital world.

The president of Ghana Lacrosse Association, Mr. Evans Ntiamoah reiterated that: "our athletes form the core of lacrosse in Ghana so they need protection from all forms of social engineering from external parties especially after the announcement of Ghana Lacrosse's Full Membership Status with World Lacrosse". As the official governing body of lacrosse in Ghana, the Board of GLA shall ensure that the necessary safeguarding policies are put in place to sustain the growth of lacrosse in Ghana.

This milestone was largely achieved with the support from Lincoln Community School who gave us free access to their multi-purpose hall, well-managed sports field and all the necessary security and logistics. Sports journalists from GBC Uniiq Radio led by Mr. Kingsley Adjei Quaye were at the venue to cover the program.

In the Men's category, Team Rufus beat Team Gorodetsky by 7 - 6 whiles the Women's game between Team Ackom and Team Nana Kwesi Brebo III ended 5 - 4.
